About Us

Who We Are: The Community Association of Pakistani Americans of Ohio (CAPA OHIO) is a non-profit, non-discriminatory organization open to all who support its mission.

Membership: Family, Individual, Student, and Life Memberships are available. Any person 18 years or older can become a member by completing a form and paying dues as mentioned.

Voting & Office Eligibility: To vote in elections, dues must be paid by July 30th of the election year. To run for office (Executive Committee or Board of Trustees), a member must have paid dues for 2 consecutive years prior to running the election.

Leadership Structure: CAPA Ohio is governed by two main bodies:

• Executive Committee (EC): Handles daily administration. President (2-year term), Vice President (2-year term), Secretary, Treasurer.
• Board of Trustees (BOT): Oversees and makes policy decisions. 7 members elected for 2-year terms. The BOT Chairperson serves a 2-year term.

Key Policies: Finances run on membership dues, donations, and events. The fiscal year is January 1 - December 31. No earnings benefit individual members.

Meetings: General Body Meeting held yearly. EC and BOT meet regularly. Elections are held in December by secret ballot.

Amendments: BOT can amend bylaws. Ethics: An Ethics and Grievance Committee resolves conflicts of any kind.

Collaborations: All joint projects with other groups require a signed MOU approved by the BOT.

Lifetime Membership Dues (One-Time Payment): Family $300 | Individual $200
